 Badal announces to set up Sri Guru Jambaheswar chair in the Punjabi university Patiala

CHANDIGARH : Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal Monday announced to set up Sri Guru Jambaheswar chair in the Punjabi University Patiala to promote his teachings and ideology in the society. 
 
An announcement to this effect was made by  Badal while releasing a book titled “Sri Guru Jambaheswar Ji Ki Mimnsa” in Hindi written by Dr. Hira Lal Maheshwari from Jaipur depicting the life and the teachings of Sri Guru Jambaheswar ji. 
 
Appreciating the efforts of Bishnoi community for the protection of wild life  environment throughout the country,  Badal also announced that Punjab government would soon initiate a special state award after the name of legendry Amrita Devi Bishnoi, who laid down her life amongst 363 villagers who also sacrificed their lives in a gruesome massacre led by the forces of Raja Abhey Singh in 1730 in Rajasthan as an action against the villagers protecting the trees from cutting.  He said that the maiden Amrita Devi award would be conferred on the eminent personality from Punjab with outstanding work in the field of environment and wild life protection on the coming Independence Day. 
 
On the demand of the members of the Bishnoi community,  Badal also agreed to recommend the case to include Bishnoi community in OBC list to the Centre at the earliest after completing all the formalities.  He also directed the PUDA to explore the possibility to construct Bishnoi Bhawan. 
           
On the occasion, a large number of members of Bishnoi community from Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab especially from Abohar-Fazilka belt converged here.

Sanjiv Godara Situ, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister  DS Guru, Akhil Bhartiya Jeev Raksha Bishnoi Sabha Chairman and President  Hanuman Dass and  Ramesh Kumar Rahar, Bhishnoi Sabha Punjab Abohar President  Surinder Kumar Godara, Vice President  Ram Murti Bhadu, Akhil Jeev Raksha Punjab President  Ram Kumar Delu, Director and President Sahitya Samiti Bishnoi Sabha  Vinod Kumar Jhambdass and Rajinder Kumar Delu, President Bishnoi Sabha Panchkula  Achint Ram Godara and Special Secretary Health Haryana  PR Bishnoi.
